Hi Jim:
Many happy returns on your 80th. Having just celebrated my 72nd, I know you must feel grateful as I do to reach these elevated years in good health. I remember well your visit to Ithaca in 1999 when we dedicated the building addition and you brought along Craig McHenry’s cornet and performed Bugler’s Holiday with Kim Dunnick and Frank Campos.
I retired 6 years ago and every year enjoy retirement more. I am playing a lot of trombone in a couple of local ensembles and also perform with two different ensembles in Maine where we summer for three months at our cabin on the coast. It was great to get the horn out of the case when I retired. The School of Music continues to prosper and I attend many concerts and recitals up on South Hill. My son Phil is trombone professor at the U. of Wisconsin at Eau Claire where he also conducts one of the bands and our daughter Betsy lives in Spain where she is also teaching music. With two grandchildren in Wisconsin and four in Spain, we are traveling often to visit.
Best wishes for many more happy years.
