Happy Birthday from your old music (and basketball!) buddy, Steve Mauk. I know now why you are such a special person; you have the same birthday as me (although I’m still a youngster at only 65). I recall fondly your mentoring and leadership here on the School of Music faculty, and truly appreciate the guidance you gave me in my early years. The faculty has changed much since you left and I am now the senior member of the music faculty (in time served, not in age). I am in the middle of my 40th year and still at it.
Kim Dunnick, one of our pianists, and I have formed a trio, TROICA, and have even recorded a CD. We’ve played at several international conferences, so you see that I am still associating with trumpeters. Send me your address and I’ll mail you a copy.
